Optimizing access control lists Search for IP packet filtering

A highly secured network with improved network performance in transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP) is the main aim of this research. The network for checking IP packet filtering rules was designed and analyzed for security aspects using expert system and neural networks. In traditional networks access control lists are processed sequentially. This degrades performance of the network since packets are analyzed one after another. To remedy this performance drawback, we addressed the problem from three different fronts: using an expert system, using parallel processing and using an artificial neural network implementation.

In this work, an Ontology-based Access Control called OJADEAC model is proposed to be applied in JADE Multi-Agent platform by combining Semantic Web technologies with context-aware policy mechanism. The proposed model extends JADE-S security framework by substituting its authorization service and providing a secure Multi-Agent system. OJADEAC model relies on a proposed JMASO ontology that models the JADE platform knowledge with any information needed to support access decisions. OJADEAC is a policy model where an access is taken according to access control policy rules. Policy rules are specified at two levels: platform and application. This work should be useful to students and users who may be concerned about applying semantic web technologies to security mechanism. Also students can benefit from the deeply analysis of JADE-S system behaviors.?

Remote Access of Process Control devices is an embedded system project using which we can control the operation of any process device from a computer which can be situated anywhere, provided the client and the server, which is connected to the process device are in a network. The project aims to automate the control of these process control devices, for a process control device to be controlled by the computer, which is called the client, the process control device should be connected to the web-server board, which is called the “server”, and the client and the server should be connected in a network, such as a LAN, WAN or the Internet. The client is provided with a user interface, wherein he/she is given the facility to turn on or off a device.
